SSA Brings Cheers to “Streetwise Run – Keeping Young Lives On Track”

“Streetwise Run – Keeping Young Lives on Track” was held on July 4 2010. The event attracted a large crowd of runners, helpers and performers from local academic institutions and voluntary welfare organisations. Organised by Beyond Social Services in conjunction with Youth Day in Singapore, the event aimed to raise funds towards programmes for youth and children affected by crisis such as teen pregnancy and childhood abuse.

Some 110 members of the Soka Volunteer Group assisted as road marshals to guide the runners along their race routes. In addition, a highly energetic hip-hop dance, put up by 23 Soka Youth Dance Crew members to boost up the spirit of the participants before the run, won cheers and praises from the audience.

This the fourth year that SSA has supported this worthy cause.
