Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education Opens “Eye on Nature” Exhibition

Some 80 guests and friends, including many grassroots leaders, attended the opening ceremony of the “Eye on Nature” photo exhibition held on May 20, 2007 at the SSA Headquarters. This is an exhibition that features 40 photographs of Mr David Tay, President of Photographic Society of Singapore and SGI President Ikeda’s “Dialogue with Nature” collection. The Guest of honour for this event was Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education, Member of Parliament for Tampines Group Representation Constituency.

In his speech, Minister Masagos shared that, “The contributors to today’s two-man show may be of different nationalities, and from different backgrounds but they share something in common – a love for photographic art. Going by their example, I am convinced that photography is an international language, with no barriers of nationality, race, religion or creed. Perhaps, because of this ‘borderless’ appeal, there is no denying that photography today is a dominant influence in mass communication, despite the growth of television and other media. It is a powerful medium in which to help promote goodwill and friendship.”

Some 800 viewed the exhibition on the first day of its opening.
