In appreciation of SGS’s continued support to the annual Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival since 2004, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2007 Organizing Committee commended SGI President Ikeda on September 15 at the Official opening and Light-Up ceremony at Chinatown. Guest of Honour for this event is Singapore’s President S R Nathan.
The commendation text reads “In Appreciation for Your Sponsorship – President of Soka Gakkai International Daisaku Ikeda”. This “sponsorship” indicates their appreciation to SGI President Ikeda and SSA for the support through culture performances in recent years.
On behalf of President Ikeda, SSA Chairman Mr Ong Bon Chai received the token of appreciation from Dr Lily Neo, Member of Parliament for Jalan Besar Group Representation Constituency and Advisor to Kreta Ayer Grassroot Organisations.
SSA Young Women Division’s Fife and Drums Corps and Sunflower Dance Ensemble performed at the event.
