A detailed account of the history of SSA was featured on page 499 of the new Singapore Encyclopedia that was released on September 11.
The Singapore Encyclopedia was launched in conjunction with the National Day celebrations. It is the first of its kind locally, featuring an A to Z of Singapore’s history, people and culture.
With two years in the making and contributions from 230 experts, this project was overseen by an advisory board chaired by the Chairman of the National Heritage Board Professor Tommy Koh.
This Singapore Encyclopedia was also circulated to overseas delegates attending the IMF and World Bank meetings in Singapore in September.
