On 19 August 2024, SGS supported the local non-profit interfaith humanitarian organization, Humanity Matters, in the holding of the World Humanitarian Day Observance at Punggol Soka Centre. The event’s Guest of Honour, Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Mr. K Shanmugam, launched the ASEAN Civilian Alliance for Regional Emergencies (ASEAN CARE) initiative on this day, alongside regional partners to enhance disaster risk readiness and response in Southeast Asia.
