Some 60 Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) and Student Division (SD) members worked hand-in-hand to accompany 29 clients from SPD (formerly known as Society for the Physically Disabled) for their visit to bustling streets of Chinatown to soak in the festive Lunar New Year spirit on February 5, 2015.
This is the sixth year that the SVG undertook such an excursion and the second year in which they undertook the activity together with the youthful and energetic members of the SD.
Apart from touring the street market, the volunteers also presented Lunar New Year songs to the friends from SPD. While singing, SVG committee representative Wong Kam Pun presented each of the SPD clients with a little Lunar New Year gift pack prepared in advance.
Through their passion, members of the SVG sought to bring to the friends at SPD, the message of new hopes for the New Year instead of regarding it as a simple excursion.
