Handicap Welfare Association’s Flag Day
About 50 Soka Volunteer Group (SVG) members participated in a recent flag-day fund raising event organised by the handicap Welfare Association (HWA). On May 13 forty of them helped to administer the tin-can distribution at the various locations while the remaining ten assisted in counting the collection raised the following.
HWA staff member Aileen said, “I am grateful that with the presence of the SVG members, the HWA staff is given the flexibility to move around the various collection stations, ensuring a smooth event.” The SVG members were also grateful to the HWA staff for having their welfare in mind. Aileen and her colleagues bought curry puffs, chocolates and dried mangoes to share with the SVG members.
