SSA Honoured for Participation in the 28th SEA Games

On July 5, Colonel Lawrence Lim, the Chairman of the 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) Opening and Closing Ceremonies Executive Committee, presented SSA with a 28th SEA Games Torch in recognition and appreciation of SSA’s contributions in the 28th SEA Games Opening Ceremony. More than 1,000 SSA youth performers and support personnel gathered in high spirits to witness this honour at the SSA Headquarters. Receiving the torch on behalf of SSA was General Director Mr Tay Eng Kiat.

At that occasion, SSA also presented awards to key members of the 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies committees for their inspirational leadership to promote culture and expand friendship through the 28th SEA Games. Colonel Lawrence Lim (Executive Committee Chairman, 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) and Colonel Yang Si Cheng (Show Committee Chairman, 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) received the SSA Goodwill Award, while Ms Beatrice Chia-Richmond (Creative Director, 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) and Mr Jeffery Tan (Chief Choreographer, 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) received the SSA Culture Award (Gold).Chairman of the 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies Fireworks Committee, ME6 Adrian Lim (pictured below), also presented SSA with a special gift, in honour of SSA’s support and friendship throughout the SEA Games journey with his team.

At the meeting, the SSA performers and support groups received their certificates of appreciation from the organisers of the 28th SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and were treated to a joyous evening of skits, culture performances and heartwarming SEA Games experience sharing.
