In the month of October, members from the Soka Volunteers Group participated in meaningful community initiatives, which bring people together in the spirit of care and solidarity.
On 4 October, Soka Volunteers Group joined Humanity Matters’ relief-packing in support of the Nepal Avalanche-Floods Relief. This initiative was attended by Mr Shawn Huang Wei Zhong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Finance and Manpower. Together with volunteers from other groups, we contributed our time and efforts to extend a helping hand beyond borders and bring hope to those affected by disaster.
On 17 October, we continued our spirit of service by participating in Blessings in Harmony organised by Masjid Al-Islah Mosque, and supported by various religious and community groups in Punggol. Since its inception in 2017, the program has benefited some 2,000 Punggol residents with daily essentials. This event was graced by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Gan Kim Yong and his team from Punggol GRC.
