Over the weekend on April 9 and 10, 100 volunteers from the Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) took part in the SPD Flag Day, volunteering their time for a good cause. The volunteers undertook various roles including conducting briefing to the student volunteers across four MRT stations, and assisted in counting and sorting the monies collected from the Flag Day.
Held annually, the SPD Flag Day raises the much-needed funds to keep the programmes and services running for people with disability and provide subsidies for those who are unable to pay for the service(s) that they receive.
SVG members continue striving to live up to its mission to “serve with joy and expand our lives together”, bringing forth compassion, consideration and commitment through their actions to benefit the community.
