New SSA Membership Card

Following the announcement of updated advisory guidelines by the Personal Data Protection Commission on 31 August 2018, SSA will be implementing changes to adhere to the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) guidelines on the use or disclosure of NRIC numbers of our members while upkeeping our best services extended to them. We seek all SSA members’ support in implementing the below changes, which will take effect from 1 September 2019.

Changes

        1. A new membership card with its UID (Unique identifier) will be issued to all our members.
        2. All SGS’s administrative forms will be revised and the new forms can be downloaded from the SSA website or obtained from SSA centres.
        3. Members will need to note that two other key unique identifiers for SSA administrative services will be their full name (as per NRIC) and their Date and Month of Birth.

On the New Membership Card with a unique QR code

This card will supersede all past SSA membership cards issued.

The card carries the design of the SSA Headquarters Building with the motto “SSA – The Indomitable Fortress”, which SGI President Daisaku Ikeda gave to SSA at the SSA General Meeting in 2011 with our new departure at the 50th anniversary of Asia’s kosen-rufu movement.

The purpose of this new membership card with a unique QR code is to replace the usage of NRIC for attendance taking, facilitate members’ services at SSA centres, such as Member Contribution Fund, General Donation, and Publication subscription purposes, etc.

Because each card has a unique QR code that is linked to individual members’ details captured in SSA HQ’s membership data, leaders and members should exercise care in safeguarding the card, which is also non-transferrable.

This new membership card will be in use from 1 September 2019 onwards. Members will receive their new SSA membership cards from their district leaders during the August and September 2019 discussion meetings period.

From 1 September 2019, those who have yet to receive the new SSA Membership Card will be required to furnish their full name (as per NRIC) and date and month of birth (if requested), to the duty personnel to facilitate attendance-taking and members’ services at all SSA centres.
