Greetings for the Lunar New Year! As we basked in the festivities of the new year, I had the opportunity to catch up with family members, relatives and friends who have been striving at the frontlines of kosen-rufu. I am encouraged that many are advancing with fresh vigour, filled with renewed determination to create new victories in this year of the 90th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai’s founding.

SSA General Director’s December 2019 Editorial
The Year of Soka Victory (2019) is fast coming to an end. It has been another fulfilling year for us: the successful bidding of a new land in Punggol for our new centre this April, the victorious performance by 600 youth division members and friends at the National Day Parade, and the holding of the Fifth Annual Ikeda Peace and Harmony Lecture with Dr Lawrence Edward Carter Sr, Dean of the Martin Lurther King Jr International Chapel of Morehouse College as the speaker.

SSA General Director’s November 2019 Editorial Recently in September, together with some SSA leaders, I had the opportunity to travel to India to participate in the significant opening of Bharat Soka Gakkai’s (BSG) new headquarters in New Delhi and the new Ikeda Auditorium at the Soka Bodhi Tree Garden.

August had been a victorious month for SSA, particularly following our youth division’s dynamic performance in the National Day Parade. The months of trainings and efforts put in were definitely part of their sincere contributions to the expansion of the network of peace and happiness in our local community.

SSA General Director’s July 2019 Editorial The month of July brings to mind many significant dates: July 3 Mentor and Disciple Day—the day when second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda was released from prison in 1945 (Mr Toda and first Soka Gakkai president Mr Makiguchi were arrested as “thought criminals” by the Japanese militarist authorities for refusing to recant their beliefs during World War II) and third Soka Gakkai president Daisaku Ikeda was arrested on false charges 12 years later in 1957, revealing a mystic bond that binds the mentor and disciple; July 11—the formation of the Young Men Division (YMD); and July 19—the formation of the Young Women Division (YWD).

SSA General Director’s June 2019 Editorial I always appreciate meeting with members, particularly with the youth. There’s always so much to learn from those sessions of heart to heart talks with another fellow human being, their challenges, their pure seeking spirit, their oneness of mentor and disciple spirit etc.

SSA General Director’s May 2019 Editorial Glorious May 3, Soka Gakkai Day, is a day where SGI members around the world set forth fresh determinations to advance kosen-rufu and challenge our human revolution. It is also a day we fondly termed as the SGI’s New Year’s Day.

Recently, at the various activities that SSA held in the month of March which included the 22 commemorative prayer sessions in the Memorial Prayer Room at Soka Peace Centre for 700 representatives commemorating the 5th anniversary of the Mentor Memorial Hall, National Day Parade Recruitment, Youth Believers Training Course, Wee Kim Wee-Soka International Seminar for Global Peace and Understanding, Women for Peace Interfaith Symposium, and the Individual Regional Study Meetings, I was deeply encouraged to see enthusiastic streams of members, especially the vibrant youth division members at every platform.
