June 10 was the day of the Opening of “Gandhi, King and Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace” exhibition, held at the Art Gallery of Singapore Management University (SMU).
About 50 Soka Volunteer Group (SVG) members participated in a recent flag-day fund raising event organised by the handicap Welfare Association (HWA). On May 13 forty of them helped to administer the tin-can distribution at the various locations while the remaining ten assisted in counting the collection raised the following.

On April 29, the exhibition on “Calligraphy Works of Late Qing Imperial Scholars” opened at the SSA Headquarters. The Guest of Honour for this event was Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Malay Heritage Foundation.
SSA joined the Inter-Religious Organization of Singapore (IRO) in making a statement on promoting greater religious harmony in a multi-racial and multi-religious society.
About 40 budding young children aged between five to six years from Cathay Future Children Education Group, China, were in town for a cultural exchange with Soka Kindergarten on March 26.
The Sixth Daisaku Ikeda Annual Lecture was held on March 24 with distinguished speaker Professor Syed Hussein, Alatas, professor at the Institute of the Malay World and Civilization, National University of Malaysia delivering the lecture.
On March 18, some 10 members of the Young Men Division Brass Band Synchro group performed at the Marine Parade New Residents’ Get-Together 2006. The Guest-of-Honour for this event was Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
A total of 2,115 candidates partook in the Intermediate Examination and Entrance Examination at the SSA Study Examinations held at the Serangoon Junior College on March 12.
