Youth for Peace Symposium 2019
On 30 June, the SSA Student Division (SD) held the third Youth for Peace Symposium (YFPS) at the SSA Headquarters with some 500 attendees consisting of SD members, friends and guests from interfaith organisations.

On 30 June 2018, the SSA Student Division (SD) held the second Youth for Peace Symposium at the SSA Headquarters with close to 300 youths in attendance consisting of SD members, their friends and guests from interfaith organisations.
On October 21, SSA Chairman Michael Yap represented SSA youth division in the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM)-Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Ceremony at Our Tampines Hub.
On July 12, close to 200 youth representatives attended a dialogue session with Minister Chan Chun Sing, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office at the SSA Headquarters.
About 40 SSA youths from the Student Division (SD) and Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) were involved in Roses of Peace 2016 (RoP 2016), a youth-driven interfaith project organised to spread the universal message of love, peace, harmony and kindness as advocated by all faith groups.
“People found it hard to believe that we were out there in the sun, distributing roses with a message of peace and friendship, without selling them anything,” shared Alvin Lay (above, right), a SSA Student Division (SD) member who was a volunteer at the Roses of Peace 2015 event on October 4.
Such somber revelations at the 10th SSA Student Peace Lecture (SPL 10) filled attendees with resolve to stand up in their own way to change the state of poverty in the world today. Held on February 7, 2015 and themed “Poverty is for Me to Change” at the SSA Headquarters’ Ikeda Culture Auditorium, SPL 10 saw the largest turnout ever in the 10-year history of the lecture series with more than 600 in attendance.
Some 60 Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) and Student Division (SD) members worked hand-in-hand to accompany 29 clients from SPD (formerly known as Society for the Physically Disabled) for their visit to bustling streets of Chinatown to soak in the festive Lunar New Year spirit on February 5, 2015.
