On March 3, 2016, six volunteers from the Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) accompanied 10 elderly clients from SPD@Toa Payoh for a day-tour to the S.E.A. Aquarium located in Resorts World Sentosa.
After a safety introduction to the proper use of the wheelchair, each SVG volunteer paired up with a SPD client to begin the afternoon of discovery and bonding inside the beautiful aquarium.
The senior citizens’ faces bore the same expression of excitement and enthusiasm as it was their first experience visiting S.E.A Aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium, where it housed close to 100,000 marine animals of over 800 species.
Both the senior citizens and the SSA volunteers enjoyed a memorable day filled with heartfelt exchanges and laughter.
