On August 20, Professor Tu Wei Ming of Harvard University delivered a lecture to some 650 people at the SSA Headquarters. Chairing the lecture was Professor Zheng Yong Nian, Director of East Asia Institute.
The Mandarin lecture was well received by public and members alike. The topic “Dialogical Civilization and Harmonious Society” stirred much participation from the audience during the Question and Answer Session as Professor Tu drew parallels to the ideas of civilization in Confucianism and Buddhism, in relation to the present state of world affairs.
At the occasion, the SSA Friendship Award was presented to speaker Professor Tu Wei Ming, Chairperson Professor Zheng Yong Nian, Chairman of Zhong Yang Group (Holdings) Ltd Dr Lam Kin-chung, and Director of Geotech Ltd Dr Ho Hau Wong.
