On 27 September, members from the Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) accompanied senior citizens from SPD@Toa Payoh on a guided tour around the National Museum of Singapore’s Singapore History Gallery, as part of the community integration programme for senior citizens. For most of the seniors, it was their first-time visiting the Gallery and they were fascinated with the nostalgic exhibits that brought back memories of their childhood.
This year marks SGS’s 14th year of ongoing partnership with SPD, and our third year of close collaboration with SPD@Toa Payoh in befriending activities at the Day Activity Centre, which includes accompanying elderly on outings to various places of attraction. Recent places of interest that they have visited included Gardens by the Bay and Asian Civilisation Museum.
