On 31 July, SGS General Director Tay Eng Kiat attended a Community Tree Planting event, jointly organised by National Parks Board, Land Transport Authority and Tampines Group Representation Constituency, for the Silver Zone at Tampines Street 81.
The Silver Zone Scheme, first announced in 2014, involves implementing a series of traffic-calming measures and senior-friendly road safety features at areas with a high proportion of senior residents. Located just outside the SGS Headquarters, the Silver Zone at Tampines Street 81 will have kerbless crossings for elderly to cross safely, and widened pathways for cyclists and pedestrians for safer path sharing. Construction is currently in progress and targeted for completion by end 2022. The newly-planted trees will also provide considerable shade when the Silver Zone is ready.
Let’s look forward to the upcoming Silver Zone near our Headquarters!
