SSA Participates in SG Cares “Celebrating Our Culture of Care” Finale Event

On 17 August, SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat and volunteers from the Soka Volunteers Group (SVG) participated in the SG Cares “Celebrating Our Culture of Care” finale event held at Our Tampines Hub.

The event was graced by Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Grace Fu, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister in the Ministry of National Development Desmond Lee, and Speaker of Parliament of Singapore Tan Chuan-Jin.

General Director Tay joined the Guest-of-Honours and key partnering organisations on stage to place their written wishes for a caring and inclusive society on “Our Little Red Dot” installation.

Thereafter, Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin visited the SSA exhibition where SVG volunteers shared on the various community projects that SSA has participated in to benefit the less privileged since the 1980s.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, the SG Cares bicentennial project showcases how various grassroots organisations and people in Singapore have contributed to its community building.
