SSA hosted a visit by 13 Singapore Police Force (SPF) officers on February 13 at the Senja Soka Centre. The visit was part of the Civil Service College’s programme on “Building Communities: Harmony in Diversity.” It was conducted to give SPF officers a better understanding of the different cultures and religions in Singapore, so as to increase their religious sensitivity during the course of their work. The programme includes a study tour to different places of worship in Singapore.
During the visit, the guests were given an introduction to the philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism, history of the Soka Gakkai and SGI, as well as the objectives, profile and activities of SSA by Vice General Director Mr Chan Heng Yuen. Their understanding was further deepened through a tour of the premises, including the columbarium facilities.
