SSA Young Men Division Jonathon Yeap Chin Tiong was awarded the “ASEAN Young Photographers’ Award 2007”. This is a prestigious award presented to one selected youth from each of the 10 ASEAN countries. On November 16, he received the award from Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communication and the Arts. Jonathon was also subsequently interviewed by the local papers and the Channel News Asia.
Amongst past accolades that Jonathon has received included “Singapore Young Photographer Award” (where he was short listed as the best six out of 500 local photographers) in 2006, Singapore Press Holdings’ “Best Featured Picture Award”, and “International Federation of Photographic Art honor mention” in “Digital Monochrome” category at the “54th Singapore International Photography Award”.
