On February 4, 130 SSA Youth Division members comprising students from secondary to tertiary levels, performed at the opening item of the annual Chingay Street Parade. Organised by the People’s Association and held along Orchard Road this year, the event was telecast live and watched by international and local viewers through media broadcast on national television and the internet. Guest of Honour for this event was President S R Nathan. Also present were other members of the Cabinet including Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan, Minister of Education Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Lim Swee Say.
