Some 200 participants of SSA Student Division dressed as lion fishes, crabs, little fishes, seaweeds, and corals in the item titled “Ocean of Harmony” at Chingay on 16 February 2008.
Their winsome smiles and exuberance teloported the audience that included Singapore President S R Nathan into the beautiful yet mysterious underwater world.
After braving through seven stationary performing stations, the participants were still full of vigour and restlessness. After the parade eventually drew to a close, the joyous Chingay spirit continued into the HDB heartlands – Chinatown (17 Feb); Toa-Payoh-Bishan GRC (23 feb); Sembawang GRC< Nee Soob East and Nee Soon Central SMC (24 Feb).
