The Mid-Autumn festival, with its rich tradition, never fails to bring a sense of warmth and bliss to busy city dwellers in Singapore as they enjoyed this festivity in the company of their families and friends. This year, Esplanande – Theatres on the Bay celebrated the festival with “Moonfest – A Mid-Autumn Celebration 2009”, which paid tribute to this Chinese folk tradition with a range of cultural performances from October 2 to 4.
The Tulip Choir and Soka Chorus serenaded the crowd of audience gathered before the stage with Mandarin songs such as “Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin” and “Ru Yan” at the Esplanade Concourse on October 4. With the accompaniment of Chinese flute and a children’s lantern dance, the entire performance added much joy and warmth to the celebrative atmosphere.
