Towards a Philosophy of Peace: Honouring the Contributions of Daisaku Ikeda – A Tribute Seminar

On 20 January, some 230 people attended the Tribute Seminar for Ikeda Sensei, titled “Towards A Philosophy of Peace – Honouring the Contributions of Daisaku Ikeda”, held at the Soka Peace Centre.

Following two heartwarming welcome addresses by Cultural Medallion recipient, Mr David Tay and Dr Shahril Salleh, Director of Research from Dialogue Centre, a robust panel discussion consisting of four speakers ensued.

Led by moderator Mr Francois Bretault, Chairperson of Centre for Interfaith Understanding (CIFU), the panel of speakers – Ms Li Jin Haw (SGS), Ms Nazhath Faheema (Hope Initiative Alliance), Mr Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib (Dialogue Centre / CIFU), and A/P Paul Hedges (NTU)—the conversation was both reflective and forward-looking, addressing the critical need for dialogue and peace. Offering the closing remarks were Mr Tay Eng Kiat (SGS) and Prof Yaacob Ibrahim (CIFU).

Deepest appreciation to all who supported and attended the Tribute Seminar!
