This November marks the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Hall of the Great Vow for Kosen-rufu. Our heartiest congratulations to all!
The hall was established for SGI members worldwide to gather joyously with the spirit of many in body and one in mind, transcending all differences, to pray for the realisation of world peace.
In his message on November 8, 2013, marking the completion of the Hall of the Great Vow for
Kosen-rufu, Ikeda Sensei said,
“The heart of the great vow for kosen-rufu and the life of Buddhahood are one and the same. Therefore, when we dedicate our lives to this vow, we can bring forth the supreme nobility, strength, and greatness of our lives.
When we remain true to this vow, the limitless courage, wisdom, and compassion of the Buddha flow forth from within us. When we wholeheartedly strive to realise this vow, the ‘poison’ of even the most difficult challenge can be transformed into ‘medicine’ and karma transformed into mission.”
Given the numerous global challenges, there is now greater need for the realisation of peace and happiness of the world, by “establishing the correct teachings for the peace of the land”.
Let us continue to expand our Soka network of hope and happiness helping one person after another to awaken to their infinitely noble Buddha nature, transforming despair into hope, suffering into joy, and fear into courage. Let’s advance together with confidence and in good cheer towards a joyous and victorious life.
Since the start of this year, the Year of Youth and Triumph, everyone has been earnestly striving to advance joyously to expand this Soka network of hope and happiness. Every district is endeavouring to reach out to one more Bodhisattva of the Earth. Thanks to everyone’s sincere efforts, we have more
than 1,600 new friends joining us in our activities.
Let us make this November the month of another fresh departure, based on the vow for kosen-rufu, and end the year with great victories to welcome 2024, the Year of Fresh Departure for a Youthful Soka Gakkai Worldwide.
