April coincides with the traditional Chinese period for tomb sweeping, also known as the “Qingming Festival”. On the weekend of April 2 and 3, SSA held a series of 25 memorial prayer meetings at the zone level which saw more than 4,000 SSA members and their families gather at the Headquarters, Tampines Soka Centre, Soka Youth Centre, Senja Soka Centre and Soka Culture Centre, to pray for the repose and happiness of deceased loved ones.
Four additional memorial prayer meetings were also held on March 25 at Senja Soka Centre for the family members of deceased members with niches at the An-Le Memorial Hall, a columbarium facility for SSA members. A total of 4,800 people participated in these prayer meetings.
