On 17 October, SGS welcomed some 40 youths from Indonesia and Singapore, alongside members of the interfaith community, for a morning of dialogue at Punggol Soka Centre (PSC) as part of the ‘Harmony in Action’ youth exchange programme.
Organized by Wahid Foundation, and supported by Temasek Foundation, this youth exchange programme explores topics on ecology, sustainability, gender equality, diversity and social inclusion (GEDSI).
Among the notable guests were Prof Yaacob Ibrahim, Professor of Practice at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and Advisor to the Centre for Interfaith Understanding; Ibu Yenny Wahid, Director of the Wahid Foundation; and Mr James Chan, Head of Programmes Office and Resilient Societies at Temasek Foundation.
SGS Student Division representatives led the guests on a tour of “The Interconnectedness of All Life – Advancing Global Citizenship in Action” exhibition at Level 3 of PSC.
Through meaningful conversations and shared learning, participants explored how interfaith understanding and collaboration can contribute to a more inclusive and harmonious society.
