On November 22, eleven teachers from the Anglo-Chinese School visited Senja Soka Centre under “CultureScope”, an engagement programme for educators organised by OnePeople.sg. The programme included visits to religious sites and provided an opportunity for participants to explore elements of the community which contribute towards building the strength of our social fabric in Singapore. This is the first time that SSA hosted “CultureScope” participants.
Before touring the An-Le Memorial Hall, the teachers were introduced to Nichiren Buddhism and SSA’s efforts in promoting peaceful and harmonious coexistence in Singapore through Peace, Culture and Education endeavours. Two members of the SSA Educators Group facilitated the sharing and a Question and Answer session, followed by a lively dialogue between the participants and the facilitators.
The participants appreciated the opportunity to have a deeper understanding about SSA and the SGI Buddhist movement.
