On 27 August, the new book ‘Daisaku Ikeda: Champion of Hope and Happiness” by Dr N. Radhakrishnan was launched at the Singapore Management University. Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development, was the Guest of Honour for the event.
Some 100 guests including Ms Akiko Sugita, Director of the Japan Creative Centre of the Embassy of Japan in Singapore; Professor Leo Tan, Director (Special Projects) of National University of Singapore; and Professor Elvin Lim, Dean, Core Curriculum & Director Wee Kim Wee Centre, SMU, attended the book event.In this new book, Dr Radhakrishnan writes about the President of Soka Gakkai International Dr Daisaku Ikeda, and highlights his leadership on value creation and world peace, virtues which are important in building resilient and sustainable societies in the present times.Through this publication, the historic dialogue between Dr Radhakrishnan and Dr Ikeda is captured through detailed chapters under the theme “Walking with the Mahatma: and Dialoguing with Ikeda”, as both men discussed extensively into issues of paramount concern facing humanity today. Both men believe and advocate non-violence as a universal and transcendent value, and hope to imbibe positive values in people, and guide key leaders in their leadership on issues of human survival and sustainable peace.
The sale of this book will commence on 8 September 2018 at the SSA Book Fair.
