On 4 November, SGS General Director Tay Eng Kiat and Vice General Director Michael Yap joined the celebrations of Wee Kim Wee Centre’s 20th Anniversary at the Singapore Management University (SMU). The event witnessed the official launch of the Wee Kim Wee Room, a replica of the former President’s residence at Cavenagh court containing original artefacts from his presidential and post-presidential years.
The Wee Kim Wee Centre, a partner of the College of Integrative Studies at SMU, has promoted Dr Wee Kim Wee’s ethos of “multi-cultural consciousness” over the past 20 years by pursuing intercultural exchange and dialogue through its lectures, seminars and conferences.
SGS is delighted to have been a close partner of the Wee Kim Wee Centre through the Annual Ikeda Peace and Harmony Lecture and Wee Kim Wee-Soka International Seminar on Global Peace and Understanding series held at SMU since 2015.
