(Have you heard?) Preparations are now underway for the opening of a brand new Soka International School Malaysia (SISM) in year 2023!
Situated in the outskirts of Malaysian capital in Negeri Sembilan state, where various educational institutions, including universities peppered the area, the new School which is the first of such international school to carry the name “Soka”, will serve as a combined Junior and Senior High School and welcome students from both Malaysia and overseas. Dormitories will be available on campus for overseas students and Malaysian students.
With lessons conducted mainly in English, SISM will provide an academically rigorous curriculum centered on humanistic education aimed at fostering global citizens of wisdom, courage, and compassion, based on the educational philosophy of the three founding Soka Gakkai presidents, Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, Josei Toda and Daisaku Ikeda.
SISM will offer the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum to junior high school students. SISM will also offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and the Cambridge International A Levels to senior high school students, thus giving the senior high school students a choice.
These educational programs will give students direct access to major universities around the world, including Soka University of America and Soka University (in Japan).
In response to this latest wonderful endeavour, President Ikeda has presented the following founding principles and mottoes to SISM.
