On 1 April, SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat and SSA Vice Chairman Ong Chin Chong welcomed new Commissioner of Charities Mr Desmond Chin and Deputy Commissioner of Charities Ms Sim Hui Ting to the SSA Headquarters. Mr Desmond Chin was officially appointed as the new Commissioner of Charities on November 1, 2020. Through this visit, Commissioner Chin and Deputy Commissioner Sim were given an overview of our Buddhist philosophy, SSA’s membership structure and our key activities.
This year also marks SSA’s 36th year of registration as a Charity under the Charities Act since October 10, 1985.
