A Tribute to the Lion City: The Jewel of Southeast Asia was launched in August 2015 in celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee. It contains SGI President Ikeda’s writings, thoughts and interactions with Singapore, her leaders and her people over the course of his three visits to Singapore in 1988, 1995 and 2000. President Ikeda personally autographed two copies of the book for Singapore President Tony Tan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
On November 8, SSA General Director Tay Eng Kiat and SSA Chairman Michael Yap presented a signed copy of A Tribute to the Lion City: The Jewel of Southeast Asia to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at a community event in Ang Mo Kio.
The book for President Tony Tan was presented on December 9 at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, where President Tan was attending the ICAP Charity Day 2015 as the Guest-of-Honour.
