The Youth Division of the Singapore Soka Association held its 8th Youth Peace Lecture on 17 July 2010 at the SSA Headquarters. Distinguished speaker Professor Kirpal Singh, Director of Wee Kim Wee Centre, Singapore Management University spoke on “YOUTH & WORLD PEACE: Challenges & Issues” which drew intense interest and response from the audience.
The lecture was chaired by Associate Professor Leonard C. Sebastian, Head of Undergraduate Studies and Coordinator, Indonesia Programme S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University.
About Youth Peace Lecture
The lecture series is a peace initiative by the Youth Division of Singapore Soka Association in response to the 9.11 attacks in the United States. The Youth Peace Lecture aims to promote learning and dialogue among youth on issues pertaining to peace, culture and education, thus inspiring them to take on an active and contributive role in society.
