“Chingay 2011 will be the best and grandest parade in Chingay’s history,” so declared the organiser, the People’s Association. Held during the Chinese New Year, on 11 and 12 February 2011, this parade will once again take place at the F1 pit. In partaking in this annual festive event, SSA would be celebrating its 30th year of participation in Chingay Parade. This time, with the support from Wildlife Reserves Singapore, SSA would portray a thriving microcosm of the animal kingdom with 250 participants dressed in costumes of giraffes, zebras, dancing trees, Jane and Tarzan, dancing vivaciously around a massive float featuring other animals of the animal kingdom.
To gear up for this grand event, SSA participants had commenced their training in November and will be undergoing greater intensive training in the coming months.
