Educational Talk at SSA Explains Relationship and Marriage

On 9 October 2010, Mdm Evelyn Khong, Family Life Educator Head at Fei Yue Community Services, spoke light-heartedly with an audience of 65 youth participants in a talk entitled “The Myths and Magic of Marriage and Relationship”. The participants gained much from it, where there were practical examples illustrated regarding building a fulfilling relationship and marriage that are founded on trust and understanding.

One of the participants, Lim Poh Chen, shared what he has learnt from the talk, “Though my partner and I may share differences in personalities and viewpoints, it is important for us to acknowledge our differences so that we could cherish each other. It is through communicating with, understanding and trusting each other that a lifelong relationship could be forged.”

Another participant, Mok Wai Mun, remarked, “The talk was interesting and helpful. I realised that many of the points shared by the speaker about building good relationships are in fact taught in Nichiren Buddhism and SGI President Ikeda’s guidances. I believe ultimately it is our faith that will bring forth our wisdom and life-force to put them into practice and create happiness for oneself and others.”
