The school vacation was a time for teachers to unwind and put aside their marking pens, and for a group of 68 educators from the SSA Educators Group, it was also a time to meet for a rejuvenating one-day Educators Group Training Course.
On 20 November 2010 at SSA HQ, after a refreshing recitation of gongyo and daimoku and some exercises, the participants engaged themselves in a hearty sharing of experiences and good books they had read. Besides making new friends and learning more about one another during lunch and small group dialogues, the participants were encouraged to seek from Vice General Director Chan Heng Yuen on tackling various challenges they have encountered in their course of teaching. In response, he encouraged them to first of all recognise that they possess the life state of Buddhahood, and through strong, focused prayers, they would be able to manifest the courage and wisdom to handle the multitude of challenges facing them, and fulfill their roles as humanistic educators.
