On 15 October 2010, five representatives from the People’s Association, led by Mr Han Tan Juan, Group Director, Grassroots Cluster, paid a goodwill visit to the Singapore Soka Association (SSA) Headquarters. And on October 27, seven representatives from the Community Relations & Engagement Division (CRED) of the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, led by Ms Charlene Chang, Director, CRED, also visited.
During the two visits, hosted by SSA General Director Mr Ong Bon Chai, SSA representatives gave a presentation about SGS’s organisation, philosophy and activities to the guests. The guests were also given a tour of the SSA Headquarters building and held discussions with SSA staff.
“It has been an insightful session. We have gained a deeper understanding about SSA and the approach undertaken to engage your members. Indeed, it has given us another perspective as we listened how SSA puts in immense effort in the growth of every individual and how everyone works towards the greater good of promoting peace in the world. Thank you for the sharing… I believe we will continue and strengthen our close partnership with SSA, in working towards a more cohesive and caring community,” shared Mr Han.
