Imagine a galaxy of 660 stars sparkling brightly! Imagine them coming together to form five giants starts of the Singapore flag! These were the breathing scenes that mesmerised some 27,000 spectators at the Padang and millions more watching at home and around the world as Singapore celebrated her 45th National Day.
Dressed in white glittering costumes, 660 Women Division (WD) members danced elegantly as they moved swiftly from one impressive formation to another, including the captivating light displays that depicted the ideals of the five stars – democracy, peace, progress, equality and justice. In the finale, they joined performers from Singapore Armed Forces and Ministry of Education dressed in red to form the Singapore flag, aptly capturing this year’s NDP theme of “Live Our Dream, Fly Our Flag”.
Behind this splendid performance were many months of tireless efforts as the WD participants trained intensely. Unity was forged through heart-to-heart encouragement and chanting for one another’s well-being throughout their months-long preparation that were supported by members of the Soka Stallion, Passion Group, Hospitality Group, choreographers, trainers and administrative personnel who had striven just as hard behind the scenes to ensure great success of the NDP performance.
This year marks SSA 25th Participation in the National Day Parade Performance.
