SSA members support the cause to build a harmonious multi-religious society through the Orange Ribbon Pledge drive that was held as part of the month-long National Orange Ribbon Celebrations this July.
Some 1,500 SSA members expressed their commitment to live in harmony as one gracious society on special pledge slips that were eventually folded into stars.
This year’s theme “Many Races, One Gracious Community” is also the value in accord with the Olympic spirit. The event organised by OnePeople.sg, the five community development councils, the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, the People’s Association and five self-help groups aims to spread messages of harmony, as well as the Olympic values in support of Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010.
