SSA Participates in the 44th National Day Parade

As the stage lighting dimmed, the curtain for Chapter 9 of the National Day Parade 2009 with the theme “Come Together, Reaching Out, Reaching Up” lifted as 650 performers from SSA Women Division (WD) holding crimson lit spheres, students from Bedok North Secondary School and various musicians streamed into the Marina Bay Floating Platform.

Clad in pristine white dresses and headgears with little red balls sewn onto them, the SSA participants danced in unison to form into a neat row of letters spelling the word – “MAJULAH” with the help of their lighted spheres to portray the onward, ever-advancing spirit of Singapore. Among the multiple transitions, the women moved into the “MAJULAH” and Singapore Lion symbol formations with graceful dance steps and elegant poses.

This performance, supported by 120 behind the scene helpers, is SGS’s 24th participation in national day celebration.
