SSA Student Division (SD) members held their annual June project in the form of an exhibition and forum titled “My Mentor Daisaku Ikeda” on 11 June 2011 at the SSA Headquarters. The event saw an attendance of more than 600 members and friends. Spanning across three levels of the Headquarters building, the exhibition featured diverse aspects of SGI President Ikeda’s life, from his family and youth to his achievements and endeavours for the peace and happiness or all people. The theme that underscored the event was the profound bond between President Ikeda and his mentor Josei Toda, and by extension, the bond between the SD students and President Ikeda, which they endeavoured to forge through the preparations for this event.
In the “Heart-to-Heart Forum”, the panelist brought their listeners closer to President Ikeda as they shared their joy and testimonies as his disciple.
Ms Marie Chan, a senior lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic, who was invited by her students to view the exhibition, shared: “I am honoured to be invited and have learnt a lot from all of you. Thank you for hosting me. It has been enriching.”
