“Another Way of Seeing Things” Screened on Racial Harmony Day at Damai Secondary School

On July 20, some 300 students and teachers of Damai Secondary School watched the award winning documentary “Another Way of Seeing Things” as part of their educational segment in commemoration of Racial Harmony Day. Based on the essay of the same title written by SGI President Ikeda, the film was selected by the school for its central message of warning one against the danger of stereotyping and the need to “hear the other side”.

A panel discussion on issues related to racial and religious harmony ensued with SSA Vice General Director Mr Chan Heng Yuen sharing as one of the panelists together with speakers from the Ministry of Defence and the vice-principal of the school, on how religious and grassroots organizations can play a part in maintaining racial harmony in the heartlands.

SSA also presented some books to the school on this occasion.
