On August 9, some 1,200 Men and Young Men Division members and new friends put up a rousing performance at the National Day Parade held at the National Stadium.
This year marks SSA’s 21st year of participation in the 41st annual national event. The theme for this year’s event is “Our Global City, Our Home”. SSA’s performance came in Act II titled, “Our Island of Opportunities”.
Their performance included calisthenics display and light formations. Preparation for the item started since April. Participants gathered for weekly training sessions at Kranji camp. This year, about 40% of the participants were participating for the first time in the National Day Parade.
Besides the men, another 90 SSA Women and Young Women Division members and new friends also participated in the People’s Association item in Act 1, titled “City of Colours”. Their graceful dance and costumes showcased the multi-racial ethnicity of the nation.
