For more than a year, SSA Student Division members from Nanyang Polytechnic had been tirelessly sharing about the meaningful and empowering message conveyed through the “Seeds of Hope: Visions of sustainability steps towards change” exhibition amongst student clubs and their lecturers. Their efforts culminated in the holding of the exhibition, which is a joint initiative by the Soka Gakkai International and the Earth Charter International, at the school’s Atrium in conjunction with NYP Friendship Day on 13 July 2011. The exhibition attracted some 250 viewers, many of whom were so inspired that they penned their pledge for peace on a pledge card after learning from the exhibition.
In the spirit of promoting inter-faith learning and sharing, SSA held its first public lecture series under the theme “Living Buddhism” on 2 May at
Singapore Soka Association supported the Asia Humanitarian Forum (AHF) 2010 held at The Plaza, National Library from 15-17 January with the exhibition “Seeds of Change” as well as screening of the videos “Another Way of Seeing Things” and “A Quiet Revolution”.
SGI President Ikeda’s essay titled “A Civilization Predicated on Dialogue” was published in the local main Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao on January 10.
A delegation of 23 Chinese officials from Longgang district, Shenzhen, who are presently on a two week study tour, visited the SSA Headquarters on December 17.

On November 30, some 1,100 people attended a talk centering on the theme, “Dawn After the Dark – What if I have Mental Illness?” This talk is a peace initiative by SSA Women and Young Women Divisions, co-organized with Silver Ribbon (Singapore)
From November 28 to December 1, an exhibition showcasing new and award winning clay sculptures by China’s Henan province master sculptor Zhao Enmin and outstanding apprentice sculptors, was on display at the SSA Headquarters.
From November 24 to 28, the exhibition “From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit” produced by the Soka Gakkai International, opens at the atrium of Singapore Institute of Management University.
