Close to 500 members and believers took the SSA Entrance Level Buddhist Study Examinations held at both the SSA Headquarters and Tampines Soka Centre on 22 December.
The 11.18 Soka Gakkai Foundation Day Commemorative Meeting held on 25 November saw the appointment of some 300 leaders and 4 new key SSA Youth Leaders.
SSA’s Statement of Support for Maintenance of Religious Harmony (Amendment) Bill 2019
May to August have been designated as the “Encouragement Months” for SSA, where all leaders and members will focus on offering warm encouragement to fellow members, believers and new friends through home visitations and dialogues.
SSA successfully bided for the land parcel at Sumang Walk which was up for public tender since October 2018. News of the successful bid was covered by the Lianhe Zaobao Chinese newspaper on April 25, 2019.
Soon, we will be welcoming the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Hall of the Great Vow for Kosen-rufu located in Shinanomachi, Tokyo, on November 18, 2018. Nothing brings us greater delight and joy that our mentor SGI President Ikeda is in good health and high spirits, advancing with us towards this significant milestone.
In recognition of SGS’s active contribution to and participation in the community, the People’s Association (PA) conferred upon SSA, the PA Community Partnership Excellence Award, on the evening of 23 October 2018.
On 27 August, the new book ‘Daisaku Ikeda: Champion of Hope and Happiness” by Dr N. Radhakrishnan was launched at the Singapore Management University. Guest of Honour was Ms Sun Xueling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development.
On April 25, SSA hosted 26 staff and volunteers from Assyafaah Mosque at the SSA Headquarters as part of their Learning Journey, to continuously discover and learn best practices in programmes that serve the community.
