In conjunction with July 3, Mentor and Disciple Day, and in commemoration of the 72nd anniversaries of the Young Men Division and Young Women Division’s formation days, which fall on July 11th and July 19th respectively, over the course of two weekends on July 22 to 30, the vibrant youth of SGS came together for tri-regional gatherings.

Some 13,500 youths from diverse social backgrounds, faiths and ethnic groups came together and pledged to be the transformative source of hope in society over the weekend of 25 and 26 August 2018.
On October 21, SSA Chairman Michael Yap represented SSA youth division in the People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM)-Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Ceremony at Our Tampines Hub.
SSA’s Golden Lion Dance Troupe put up a brilliant performance at the National Wushu Championship 2008, held at the Toa Payoh Indoor Stadium from August 14 to 17. All in all, they garnered a total of one team gold trophy, one team silver trophy, three team silver medals and three individual bronze medals.
SSA Young Men Division Jonathon Yeap Chin Tiong was awarded the “ASEAN Young Photographers’ Award 2007”.
SSA Youth Division member Marcu Chia was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Award for All Round Excellence. This award recognizes individuals who have excelled in and out of the classroom. A total of 93 awards were given out by Minister of State for Education Gan Kim Yong at the annual ceremony on August 22.
SSA Golden Lion Dance Troupe emerged champion amongst the four teams in the free hand planned routine sparring in the nationwide Wushu competition held in August.
On September 30, the Second SSA Student Peace Lecture was held at the SSA Headquarters where 850 participants, including some 50 guests from various youth organisations, tertiary institutions and schools attended.
On June 23, some 20 SSA youths participated in the launch of the National Youth Forum (NYF) 2006 entitled, “Take the Lead, Be the Change” held at the Skate Park, Orchard Road.
