Five SSA Youth representatives participated in the 5th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Youth (AMMY V) hosted by Singapore from April 23 to 27.
On February 17, local major English news daily The Straits Times, ran an article on “Kid’s Problem Starts with Adult Society” written by SGI President Ikeda’s, in the Review page. Alongside the article was a picture of SSA Primary Division children with smiling faces.
Some SSA representatives participated in interfaith dialogues and seminars held over the months of February and March.
On January 27, some 20 SSA youth representatives were amongst the 200 strong audience who attended the culmination of the Singapore Inter-Faith Youth Forum held at the Singapore Management University.
“I believe Soka Kindergarten (SK) was a base for my character building. molding me to what I am today … I strongly believe that Soka Kindergarten has equipped students like myself with the necessary skills to build on after we graduate from school.
On October 17, SSA donated some 20 titles of SGI President Ikeda’s dialogues with world leaders to the Singapore Management University (SMU).
On October 7, nine grassroots leaders from the NorthWest Community Development Council (CDC) District led by Mayor Dr Teo Ho Pin paid a courtesy visit to SSA Headquarters. The party was received by SSA Chairman Ong Bon Chai, Executive Secretary Sandra Sin, and some Youth Division leaders.
“A mentor elevates us (his disciples) to a higher plane, keeps a constant watch on us and ensures that we lead the kind of life we should live,” shared Dr Neelakanta Radhakrishnan at the Sixth Youth Peace Lecture.
