In continuing the efforts to strengthen the bonds amongst various faith communities and promote dialogue at the grassroots level, the Tampines West and Tampanies North IRCCs (Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle) co-organised the IRCC Forum 2012 titled “Youth Engagement of Different Faiths” at SSA Headquarters on March 3. The event attracted some 350 participants made up of students and residents from within the vicinity and SSA members.
The speakers at the forum were representatives from the Harmony Centre @ An-Nahdhah Mosque, True Way Presbyterian Church, Taoist Federation and SSA. Each shared brief background of their respective faiths and key programmes aimed to engage youth and promote cohesion and friendship amongst young people in Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-religious landscape.
Mr Masagos Zulkifli Bin Mosagos Mohamad, Minister of State, Ministry of Home and Foreign Affairs and Adviser to Tampines GROs and Tampines West IRCC, was the Guest-of-Honour for the event.
